Curriculum Vitae
CALIFORNIA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY // University Writing Center Tutor
September 2019 - Present
The mission of UWC is to equip students to become clear writers and communicators. As a writing coach, I meet with around 6-8 students a week through in-person meetings, video calls, or emailed written feedback to help them become more persuasive in their assignments. I've also written and produced videos on literary concepts that are used in introductory writing classes.
LANCER MEDIA GROUP // Yearbook Profile Editor
August 2020 - May 2021
I worked closely with the Editor-In-Chief to pitch and assign stories that would best highlight certain students or professors for the 2020-2021 Angelos yearbook. Also, I interviewed students and faculty online and in-person, collaborated with designers and photographers, and edited stories created by my assistant writers.
ANNIE GABRIEL LIBRARY // Library Student Worker
August 2019 - May 2021
At the front desk, I helped students access and check-out library resources. I also shelved books, tidied study spaces, and enforced COVID-19 policies. This position required me to be familiar with our many databases (such as JSTOR, OneSearch, and LION) and organizational software to ensure the smooth running of the library.
LANCER MEDIA GROUP // Yearbook Assistant Culture Editor
August 2020 - May 2021
As Assistant Culture Editor, I wrote AP style stories on campus cultural life, including theatre arts and the freshman experience, interviewed students and faculty online and in-person, and documented the impact of major events such as the California fires and COVID-19 on CBU culture.
BIGGER PRESS // Academic Editor Intern
May 2020 - February 2021
In this internship, I collaborated with Bigger Press, a business case portal online, to copyedit 50+ cases. Each case was designed to develop critical thinking skills and ranged from 12-25 pages. I edited 2-4 cases per week and returned edited copies via email.
